Ground broken on City Lights development near downtown Dallas

City Lights will be on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas.

Work has begun on the long-stalled City Lights project on the eastern edge of downtown Dallas.
The Dallas Morning News reported that apartment developer Greystar has bought the four-acre parcel at Live Oak Street and Good-Latimer Expressway and that ground has been broken.
It will be the site of the South Carolina-based developer's 424-unit luxury apartment community called Elan City Lights, the Morning News said. Greystar bought the property out of bankruptcy, the newspaper said.
The original owners started planning it in 2004, but the development never materialized, the Morning News said.
