Atlanta-based multifamily developer Wood Partners LLC has begun construction on its $36.3 million apartment community in the Medical District of Dallas near the city's central business district.
The four-story, 249-unit apartment property at 5522 Maple Ave. sits on nearly 3.5 acres adjacent to the Alta Maple Station, a transit-oriented development at the Dallas Area Rapid Transit light rail station. The project is part of a larger Maple-Mockingbird city-led redevelopment plan.
"Not only is Alta Maple Station a transit-oriented development, but the entire area is under transformation led, by the $2.5 billion investment in the Dallas Medical District which will generate more than 5,000 new jobs," Ryan Miller, development associate for Wood Partners, said in a written statement.
The 212,632-square-foot building features high-end finishes including granite countertops, dark wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances and luxe lighting. The property is near major employers, such as Parkland Hospital, the University of Texas Southwestern and Southwest Airlines.
Alta Maple Station aims to provide a competitive rate compared with nearby Uptown rents, Miller said.
Wood Partners is the general contractor for the project. Good Fulton & Farrell Architects is the project architect.
Construction is scheduled for completion in early 2015.
