The Hotel Monaco Denver has been sold to a Chicago-area real estate investment trust with two other U.S. hotels that are part of Kimpton's Hotel Monaco collection.
Inland American Real Estate Trust Inc. bought the 189-room hotel at 1717 Champa St., along with the Hotel Monaco Chicago and Hotel Monaco Salt Lake City, for $189 million from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants of San Francisco, Inland officials announced Monday.
Kimpton will continue to manage all three properties, and no changes in the operations of any of the hotels were announced along with the deal.
"Being located in premier urban locations with multiple demand generators, these hotels are poised to provide superior yields and maintain market leadership," said Marcel Verbaas, president and CEO of Inland American Lodging Advisor Inc., which acquires lodging properties for Inland American Real Estate Trust.
The Hotel Monaco Denver opened in 1998 in the former Railway Exchange Building and the Art Modern Title Company Building. It includes 4,000 square feet of meeting space and Panzano restaurant on its ground floor.
